These delicious stuffed green peppers have a place near and dear to my heart. Growing up these were always a family favorite, we knew the moment Mom opened up a bag of bright fresh green peppers that we were in for a treat! Hearty but flavorful this dish is one I will never stop making for years to come!

Ingredients

  • 1 Lb of ground 80-20 beef
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 15 Ounces of Spaghetti Sauce
  • 2 cups of Cooked Rice 
  • 3 Cups shredded cheese

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  • Cut the tops off all 4 peppers, level bottom of peppers to stand up straight if needed
  • Wash peppers and add them to a pot of water and let boil for 5 minutes, remove and let cool
  • Dice onion into small pieces
  • Mix ground beef, rice and onion thoroughly in a bowl
  • Add seasoning to taste and mix
  • Add 2 cups shredded cheese and ⅔ of the 15 ounce spaghetti sauce and mix
  • Add cheese to bottom of pepper and spoon beef mixture inside, take care to pack the beef into the pepper to avoid any air bubbles
  • Top with remaining sauce and cheese and bake at 425 for 30 minutes
